In Memory of Mark Hastert

In honor of Mark’s deep love for Hawaiʻi and his passion for cultivating resilient lands, his family warmly invites memorial contributions to Hawaiʻi Land Trust (HILT). Following HILT’s founding in 2011, Mark served as an inaugural member of the Board of Directors through 2016—a period of leadership he considered among the most meaningful chapters of his life. As a visionary city planner and foundation executive, Mark dedicated his career to building a vibrant Hawaiʻi, making HILT’s mission a natural extension of his life’s work. Today, HILT stewards over 22,500 acres across the islands, spanning vital coastal dunes, wetlands, forests, cultural landscapes, and agricultural lands. As HILT raises critical capital to close several major land acquisitions, gifts in Mark’s memory will directly propel HILT's efforts to foster thriving biocultural ecosystems, local agriculture, and kamaʻāina communities, while ensuring his legacy of stewardship lives on.
