To celebrate Earth Day 2013, Hawaiian Islands Land Trust (HILT) will launch its first ever Membership Program. This program is designed to create a family of involved and knowledgeable Land Trust supporters who will become our partners in protecting Hawai‘i, as we know and love it today. By partnering with HILT, members will join a growing community of people who believe in a vital ʻāina. Members will support conservation today while leaving a legacy for generations to come. Think globally and act locally by becoming a member of HILT this Earth Day!
In Hawai‘i, the lands that sustain us are bought and sold every day – land for local agriculture, native habitats, cultural sites, recreation, and shoreline access. By joining together and becoming a member of HILT, we can protect these qualities rather than see them lost forever to development.
To those individuals desiring to become a member or give the gift of membership to a friend or loved one, HILT’s Membership Program offers six levels of support from which to choose. Inspired by the names of conservation lands the Land Trust protects, individuals and families can become a Maunawila member for as little as $25 per year up to a Ulupalakua member for $5000 per year. All membership levels include the benefit of becoming a champion of the land for Hawai‘i and a range of other benefits including HILT merchandise, special invitations to hikes, and legacy trees planted in your honor.
Become a member online today and make a difference forever.
Additionally, as part of the Membership Program, HILT has designated a Young Friends membership for $15 a year for anyone under 21. Through this membership level HILT will help young people get involved with land conservation. Young people in particular have the most at stake when it comes to our environment, as they will have to live with what we leave behind for them.
HILT’s Membership Program will help yield remarkable results for land conservation throughout Hawai‘i. Protecting the places we love keeps our communities vibrant. A robust membership program will support our mission “to protect the places that sustain us for current and future generations.”
