Waihe‘e by Moonlight: Join the Land Trust on a Night Hike Friday, October 18, 2013


Explore Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge by full moon on Friday, October 18, 2013. Refreshments and snacks will be served before heading out on the easy two-mile walking path. Along the way, Hawaiian Islands Land Trust Director of Conservation, Scott Fisher, will guide the group through the ancient Hawaiian fishing village of Kapoho while sharing the history, lore, and chicken-skin stories of this special place. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Space is limited. The event is open to the public for a $25 donation.

Waiakalua Conservation Area at Kilauea, Kaua'i Join us!

If you're on Kaua'i on Saturday, November 16, come along with Hawaiian Islands Land Trust to explore the beautiful Kilauea coastline at the Waiakalua Conseration Area. (Click here to learn about our protected lands on Kaua'i island)

The hike is from 9:30 - 11 a.m.

It is an easy hike, and participants should bring a hat, sunglasses and some water. Hiking shoes/tennis shoes are preferable but not required.

$50 zipline tours to benefit HILT

Fly the forest canopy to raise your spirits—and a little money for the Land Trust. Take advantage of this special offer for $50 zipline tours at Skyline Eco-Adventures' Haleakala location on Maui. On Tuesday, November 1, as part of their weeklong celebration of Hawai‘i Arbor Day and the Plant-A-Wish project finale, Skyline is generously donating all $50 from the 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. tours straight back to HILT.

The two hour adventure includes an informational journey through the forest, five zipline crossings, and one loooong swinging bridge. Reservations are limited. Call Skyline today: 878-8400. (Be sure to request the 3:00 or 3:30 tour on Tuesday, Nov. 1)
