Weekly Environmental Volunteer Days @ Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge

Join us for our weekly environmental volunteer days and nurture your nature! Get your hands dirty at the Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge.  Every Friday morning form 8am-noon, willing hands gather to help benefit endangered species, maintain the unique nature of our Hawai‘i, and grow every resident and visitor’s appreciation of open spaces.  Activities involve managing invasive species and propagating Hawai‘i’s plants.  Forge relationships between residents, visitors, and the ‘āina!  Contact volunteer@hilt.org TODAY or call our office for more information.

Talk Story on the Land – The Merwin Palm Forest, Maui Island @ Merwin Palm Forest

Tour one of the most extensive palm collections known to exist on earth located on the north shore’s Peʻahi Stream valley. Loving restored by the hand of America’s greatest living poet, W.S. Merwin, this once-barren place has inspired some of the most celebrated poetry of our time. Led by HILT Interim Executive Director, Scott Fisher & the Merwin Palm Collection Manager, Olin Erickson.
