Weekly Environmental Volunteer Days @ Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge

Join us for our weekly environmental volunteer days and nurture your nature! Get your hands dirty at the Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge.  Every Friday morning form 8am-noon, willing hands gather to help benefit endangered species, maintain the unique nature of our Hawai‘i, and grow every resident and visitor’s appreciation of open spaces.  Activities involve managing invasive species and propagating Hawai‘i’s plants.  Forge relationships between residents, visitors, and the ‘āina!  Contact volunteer@hilt.org TODAY or call our office for more information.

Talk Story on the Land – Spreckelsville Shoreline Historical Tour, Maui Island

2-3 mile R/T. Walk back in time from 15th century to Plantation days in this culturally significant protected shoreline. Sandy & rocky shoreline, dirt roads. Led by HILT Island Council Member, Lucienne de Naie.

Talk Story on the Land – Kaiholena South – Hawai‘i Island
Feb 27 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Learn about the fabulous archaeological, historical, cultural & ecological features of this 35-acre portion of Ala Kahakai Trail system. Led by Rick Gmirkin, National Park Archaeologist and Aric Arakaki, Superintendent of Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail System. This adventure will feature a tour around heiau, massive hālau and village complexes. Water & snacks provided.
